FAQs

We have pulled together some questions we are often asked. Hopefully you’ll find the answers you need below. If there is anything we haven’t covered below, please send us an email at communications@keystagehousing.co.uk and we will endeavour to provide an answer.

It is very easy to refer someone to our service. Each property takes in those with different needs, so please consider which is most relevant by visiting the specific location of the property on the website e.g for our Luton HARRP service, visit our Luton page.

If you are referring someone, or yourself, to a service where referrals are managed by the local authority, we will reach out to the local authority on your behalf and ask if they would like us to consider the referral.

You may need to speak to your local housing team also.

If the service is right, a referral can be made via the form on our website: Visit Make a Referral Page

All those referred to us are screened prior to assessment and placement. We will meet with the candidate to discuss what they are looking for so that we can both be sure that our services are right for them at the time they need it. We may also speak to those who work with the candidate to discuss other support services available to understand how to best support the candidate towards resettlement.

All our staff are fully trained by our Quality and Training team, utilising both approved inhouse training and third party training in areas that include trauma-informed care, risk assessment, incident management, safeguarding, health and safety, fire safety and first aid, as well as relevant legislative, regulatory and support criteria and needs, particularly in relation to Safeguarding and the Care Act.

We also offer personal development training to our teams to access further qualifications and training in Information, Advice and Guidance, Adult Care and Support amongst access to a catalogue of further learning.

If you are interested in a particular qualification or training pathway please reach out and we can connect you with our Quality and Training team for a chat.

All those referred to us are screened prior to assessment and placement to ensure they do not pose a risk to other service users, our staff or the communities within which we are located.

As part of this process, we will also meet with the candidates to discuss what they are looking for so that both parties can be confident that our services meet their needs, and that they are a positive addition to our sites and to their new neighbours, both within our homes and the local communities.

Where possible, we will also speak to those who work with the candidate as a form of referencing.

All our staff on site are fully trained in safeguarding and incident management. With a focus on understanding complex needs and trauma-informed care, our locality managers and support staff manage any anti-social behaviour the moment it has been identified or reported. We will take a personalised approach to the incident and the person it involves.

We will also involve support services and emergency services if it is required. We recognise that reporting concerns can be a worrying time too and so we will make contact with the person who reported the concern to reassure them of our next steps. If you would like to see our anti-social behaviour policy please let us know.

If you need to report an incident from one of our properties, please either email us on communications@keystagehousing.co.uk or call us on 03300 945 954.

We will soon have an online incident reporting function on our website.
