A Lasting Tribute to Elaine Wilson: The Cherrywoods Defibrillator Dedication

Elaine Wilson, served as the Service Manager at Cherrywoods until her untimely passing in April 2022. The cherry blossom tree in the CW garden was planted in her honour, and the memorial bench was thoughtfully crafted by two staff members, Rob Goodliffe and Damian Dunecki.

One of Elaine’s wishes was to donate a defibrillator to Cherrywoods, and her daughter Georgia has now kindly fulfilled this. To mark the occasion, we organised a tea gathering for former colleagues, current staff who knew Elaine, and Service Users. The Cherrywoods team, together with Lisa, Tina, and Steve, did a wonderful job preparing the garden, restoring the bench, and arranging a delightful tea for everyone. We were fortunate that the cherry blossom appeared just days before, and the sunshine allowed us to enjoy the gathering outdoors.

Thank you to everyone who contributed to making the day so meaningful for Georgia, who was truly touched to see so many people come together in memory of her mum.
