Meeting with the local community to share our work

Here at Keystage we firmly believe that the way to support all those affected by the prospect of homelessness is to work with the local community – whether residents, support services, charities or businesses.

With this in mind, on the 16th August, we were delighted to have the opportunity to attend a community engagement event in Market Square in Hitchin. Joining representatives from Haven First, Settle, North Herts District Council, and the local police and fire brigade, we set up our stall. Across the course of the day, we met with many members of the public to introduce them to what we do at Keystage, sharing our work and telling them about how we work with our local partners to provide housing and support to those faced with rough sleeping in the area.

We know that in the area our services can be a little divisive, so it was very heartening to see and hear such positive feedback from the public and other local organisations about what we are doing in Hitchin.

We look forward to doing more with the local community. If you’d like to get involved as a volunteer, or would like to join the team, please visit the Get involved page on our website.
